And Then Moma Said...

My son and I read a cute little book the other day. It's called "And then, Moma said...it Takes Time to Learn to Read". It is written by TOS publisher Gena Suarez and Illustrated by Kevin Collier.
You can get your copy of the 23 page book for $9.95 at TOS. When you order you will have an opportunity to download a FREE copy of the 36 page activity book that accompanies it. The activity book can be used by kids of different ages. There is also a promo video of the book you can watch before you order.
My son's eyes lit up when I showed him this book because he took part in TOS Summer Reading Splash this past summer. He remembered the mascot whos name is Splish. "And Then Moma Said" is a book about Splish who is a homeschooled froggy that is having trouble learning to read. Just like us moms who homeschool our kids, Splish's mom knows how her son learns best by spending so much quality time with him each day. No one picks up quicker than a parent on their child's learning style. Splish's mom made mental notes about her son like I take cues from my son to see what will work best for him to be able to learn. My son picked up reading fairly quickly, but I would have enjoyed a book like this to encourage him if he had not. He's 9 years old and even he learned a thing or two. He especially enjoyed the colorful animation of the characters in the story. There are many valuable lessons here to be learned besides being patient in learning to read. The activity book I mentioned above has copy work, coloring pages, and the kids can even learn some Science.
If you have or know of a struggling reader, or want a good book to help teach some valuable lessons like patience, obedience, and faith, then I recommend you hop on over to TOS and pick up your copy of And Then Moma Said...It Takes Time to Learn to Read.
