Maine (Blueberry Pancakes)

This week in our study of the Northeastern states is Maine. The capital of Maine is Augusta. Did you know that "Maine produces 98% of the nation's low-bush blueberries"? How about a tasty recipe using some blueberries...

Blueberry Pancakes

Bisquick pancake recipe, prepared
1 cup blueberries
Maple syrup, powdered sugar or fruit spread

Prepare Bisquick pancake batter, following directions on box. Gently stir in the blueberries. Spray griddle with Pam. Preheat, then pour desired amount of batter onto griddle. When the pancake is bubbly and edges are beginning to brown, gently flip with a spatula. Continue to cook until golden brown. Serve with desired topping.

If you are from Maine feel free to share a recipe with us to try. This is the last of the Northeastern states. There won't be a state to share next week. We'll be taking a 2 month break for the summer. In August we'll come back to start up with the last of the states which are the Western States. Thank you again for stopping by to learn along with us.

Hey Renee! I bet some homemade blueberry syrup would be good with it too. I don't know how to make it though.
